Stuttgart / Ludwigsburg (dpa / lsw) – Dieter Krauß, film promoter and former commercial director of the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH (FMF), receives the Baden-Württemberg Honorary Film Award. According to the Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg, the non-drug award will be presented on December 11, 2022. We honor the people who help shape media and film locations in the Southwest and support it in the long term. Krauss is a “builder of the film scene in the Southwest who has a firm eye on both the content and the financial side of the industry,” the film bureau explained Thursday. The film buff is committed with heart and soul to a vibrant film location.
Born in 1958 and raised in Villingen-Schwenningen, the financial specialist, media expert and film lover founded the municipal cinema Guckloch in his hometown and in Furtwangen and is one of the founding fathers of the Baden-Württemberg Film Office with its film screenings annual. Krauss, who was mainly involved in the banking sector between 1974 and 1999, was also a board member of the Federal Association of Municipal Cinemas for nine years, was involved in Kinomobil Baden-Württemberg and was a member of the board of the State association of municipal cinemas.
In recent years, the film’s honorary award went to costume designer Gudrun Schretzmeier, actors Walter Schultheiss and Walter Sittler, author Felix Huby and last year to silent film musician Günter A. Buchwald. This year’s film festival, the Stuttgart State Film Festival, will take place from 7 to 11 December.
