Slow narrative should make viewers themselves waiting

The 31-year-old from Heidelberg learned her craft at the private Merz Academy in Stuttgart, where she now lives. She has slowly but steadfastly approached filmmaking, but in between has also considered studying piano. The decision in favor of the film has long been made.

“Holding Positions” shows long standing long shots. The slow narrative style is intended to make the audience themselves waiting and observing. It is something special for Laura Mahlberg that this work is currently running in competition at the Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival.
