Mahmoud Al-Khatib, Chairman of Al-Ahly Club, was keen to hold a session with his team’s players after the summit’s loss to Zamalek.
Al-Khatib’s session with the players came in the presence of the Planning Committee for the ball and before the start of the group training session on Sunday at the Touch Stadium.
Al-Khatib explained to Al-Ahly players the need to appreciate the anger of the fans and “to have a positive reaction as soon as possible, correct mistakes and return to victories,” according to Al-Ahly’s official website.
Al-Khatib stressed the need to prepare with the utmost seriousness and focus for the two African semi-finals against Wydad, Morocco.
Al-Khatib referred to Al-Ahly players, “the great responsibility that falls on them towards their club and their fans, especially since the club supports the team system to achieve the dreams and aspirations of all Al-Ahlya.”
Zamalek defeated Al-Ahly by 3-1 at the top of the 21st round of the Egyptian League.
The White Knight’s arrows were fired by Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”, Mustafa Muhammad and Usama Faisal, in the minutes 13, 71 and 93.
While Al-Ahly’s only goal came through Yasser Ibrahim in the 62nd minute.
Zamalek achieved its first victory over Al-Ahly in the league since 3 games, specifically when it defeated the red giant with a double Kasungu and Ayman Hefni in the 2017-18 season.
Zamalek reached point 42 in second place, while Al-Ahly stuck at point 56 in the lead.
