A criminal case was opened against a resident of St. Petersburg for the Russian flag thrown into the trash can

The police of St. Petersburg yesterday, August 22, detained a man on suspicion of outraging the national flag of Russia. A criminal case was initiated against him under the relevant article – Art. 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, writes “Fontanka.ru”… It is noteworthy that it is on this day that a holiday is celebrated – the Day of the Russian Flag. The man tore off the tricolor from one of the buildings on Tambovskaya Street and then threw it into the trash can.

A couple of minutes later he was detained by a police squad. The Interior Ministry refused to confirm any information about this incident to Kommersant. Later, the flag was not in the tank, as it was taken by an employee of the local FSW. It was decided to leave the detainee for desecration under recognizance not to leave and proper behavior.
