Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek, responded to the news of his club negotiating with Ahmed Fathi, the right-back for Al-Ahly, who confirmed his departure from his team at the end of the current season.

“The easiest player I can negotiate with right now is Ahmed Fathi because his contract with Al-Ahly has ended,” Mortada said on “Primo” program on “Ten” channel today.

However, “I negotiated Fathi when I negotiated with Abdullah Al-Saeed and in the current period I did not and I will not negotiate with him after I negotiated with him before, and I will not negotiate with him again.”

He continued, “Fathi is one of the best players in Egypt and Al-Ahly will lose a lot by his departure with Hussam Ashour. Fathi was like two lungs for Al-Ahly, just as Abdullah Al-Saeed was the heartbeat of Al-Ahly.”

Murtada believes that the accession of Mahmoud Abdel Moneim to “electrification” in Al-Ahly’s ranks has caused strife among his ranks.

He said: “Al-Ahly refused to renew Fathi and Ashour and he paid 20 million pounds a season for electrocution, and he made fitna in the team.”

“Al-Ahly did not pay a good money for Fathi, and I support the player in his decision to leave, and I wish him success in the coming.”

When asked whether Saleh Jumaa would negotiate for Al-Ahly player to join him, he said: “I did not negotiate with Saleh for the validity of his contract with Al-Ahly, I did not negotiate any player in Al-Ahly whose contract is valid with the club.”

He stressed, “Yes, I wish to include Saleh, but he has a valid contract with Al-Ahly and I respect all clubs and their departments.”

As for what is said about Omar Jaber returning to Zamalek after his transfer to Pyramids, he commented, “He is one of the loyal sons of Zamalek. He can play as a right back and midfield and will benefit us if he is included.”

“However, the team’s coach, Patrice Carteron, is deciding whether or not to sign him, and we will enter into direct negotiations with the owner of Pyramids Salem Al Shamsi if we want to include him.”
