FilGoal | News | Lazio Sporting Director: I respect Silva as a player, but not as a man

Lazio is very angry about the way David Silva treated the club before signing Real Sociedad, according to a report published by Sky Italia.

“I respect David Silva as a player, but not as a man,” Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tari told Sky News in a few words.

The report said that Silva did not even tell Lazio that he had signed for Real Sociedad, but the club discovered by chance as soon as his Spanish counterpart announced the inclusion of the 34-year-old player.

The report said Lazio felt he was treated with disrespect because he believed the player wanted some time for himself to bid farewell to Manchester City after spending 10 years with the English club.

The deal was supposed to take place, especially since the player’s medical examination appointment was booked in Rome, and he would sign a 3-year contract with an annual salary of 4 million euros, including extras, with benefits such as a private driver and the use of a private plane.

Real Sociedad announced the signing of Silva on a two-year contract, in a surprising turnaround amid reports that Al-Sadd and Al-Duhail were interested in joining him, with negotiations from Lazio.
