Second-division Spanish club Fuenlabrada has announced an agreement to end its contract with goalkeeper Biel Ribas.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the goalkeeper rejected an offer from the club to play until the end of the season with full pay even if it ended after June 30.
The goalkeeper’s contract expires at the end of the season and then he is entitled to leave without charge, but he preferred to leave early in light of the interruption of competitions in Spain after the outbreak of the Corona virus.
The club offered all players a full wage until their contracts expired, which was agreed upon by all members of the team, but the goalkeeper and another player refused.
Ribas, the goalkeeper, did not wait until the end of his contract and decided to leave the club already.
The club is ranked 13th with 39 points in the table for the Spanish second division, 7 points behind the seats of the qualified attachment to the Spanish League.
