Faraj Amer, president of Smouha Club, criticized the decision of the five-year committee for the inevitability of establishing the Egypt Cup, with the lack of clarity of the position of the Premier League.
Amr Al-Ganayni, the head of the quinquennial committee, has confirmed that the Egypt Cup will be completed in all cases because it is only 9 matches, while the league will wait for the final decision.
Faraj Amer said through his personal account: “It is certain that the decision to resume sports activity is the decision of the state, not only in Egypt but in all countries of the world.”
The head of Smouha added, “But if the five-year committee that manages football activity has approved the establishment of the Egypt Cup as an inevitable matter and cannot be canceled.”
And with his comments, “I think it is a first matter to complete the general league because playing football does not differentiate between being a league or a cup.”
Sports activity is to be gradually resumed in mid-June.
However, no formal decision has been taken regarding the competitions, pending the Minister of Sport’s meeting with the quinquennial committee.
