Al-Ahly midfielder Mohamed Magdi “Afsha” revealed the hours before he joined the Red Castle from the Pyramids ranks.
And Afsha told the program “Ontime Stadium” on the channel “On Time Sport”, saying: “I had an operation at the end of the season, and I said then that I wanted to move to Al-Ahly.”
“I posted a picture of me in a red shirt and I was surprised that Ahmed Hassan wanted to punish me, and I didn’t mean anything, before I published a picture with a white shirt.”
“The Pyramids coach at the time, Sebastian Desper, wanted me to move to Zamalek to exchange me for Ibrahim Hassan, and I told him,” No, Al Ahly is my dream. I had some late dues. The club decided not to give it to me unless I moved to Zamalek. “
“Zamalek is a great club, but it does not blame me. I want to play in Al-Ahly and fulfill my dream,” he stressed.
“I was banned from training with the team for three days, and after that I was told I will sign for Al Ahly today,” Afsha continued.
“I sat in my car in front of the Football Association headquarters for four hours due to stalled negotiations between Al-Ahly and Pyramids, waiting for a solution until a phone call came to me informing me to enter Al-Ahly headquarters to sign the contract.”
Asked if anything was required in the contract, he answered, “This is for my agent, and I am now receiving less dues from Pyramids, but I play in Al-Ahly, and from him everyone has known me and joined Egypt, I bear great responsibility because I am wearing the red shirt.”
Afsha stressed, “I am now in great grace and those who do not take advantage of grace are wrong, and if I become an alternative, I will fight to return to participation primarily and continuously.”
Abdullah Al-Saeed call
Afsha revealed a Friday call to Abdullah Al-Saeed, Pyramids captain and the former Al-Ahly player, before meeting Mamelodi Sun Downs in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
He said: “Al-Saeed told me to congratulate my birthday and wished me a victory over Sun Downs.”
“Playing next to Al Saeed was very easy and fun, he is the best player in his position in Egypt,” Afsha added.
His favorite position
Asked about his favorite position, he said: “I can play in all midfield positions, but No. 10 or the playmaker is the best for me.”
And about a player who does not take his right, he replied, “Amr Al-Sulaya is making a lot of effort on the field.”
