Hani Abu Raida, former President of the Football Association and member of the Executive Board of the International Football Association, expressed his fear of some things in the event of a resumption of football activity in Egypt.
Abu Reeda said on OnTime Sports 2: “We all saw the return of the German League after a period of stoppage, but with strict preventive and medical measures for everyone.”
“Behind the screens we see that it is easy, but things are more difficult than that and we must take strict precautions to keep everyone safe.”
He continued, “I fear that some parties in the Egyptian football system recklessly, whether players or employees in clubs or others, and their failure to follow health instructions is causing health crises.”
He continued, “Things must be studied well regarding the completion of the league because the competition is left with 18 rounds, unlike the other leagues in the world with 10 rounds remaining. Therefore, collective solutions must be reached regarding the completion of the competition, its end date and when the next season will start.”
When asked about his position on running for the next Football Association elections, he said: “I intend to run for the presidency of the Football Association and I will run in the elections with a list of some new faces.”
He concluded his remarks, “The five-year committee that manages football affairs at the moment has not contacted me yet to discuss the return of football.”
