Bernard Hinault’s yellow jersey panicked the auction. The cycling champion, five times winner of the Tour de France, had sold one of his precious tunics (used for the ceremonial ceremony) to the Souffle d’Espoir association which organized a sale for the benefit of the Dinan-Cancale-Saint Malo Hospital Center . The auction ended Sunday evening and Hinault’s jersey finally left for the very pretty sum of 12,050 euros.

“We were betting on 2,000 or even 3,000 euros for the official yellow jersey … There were 20 bidders, compared to four or five during our usual sales. In the last minute of auctions, the price went from 8,000 to more than 12,000 euros. We are very happy ”, explained Christophe Lefort, president of the association to the newspaper Le Télégramme. A total of 12,815 euros were raised to support healthcare staff who fight coronavirus.
