Fifteen people trapped in the flames saved by firefighters in Rennes

It was around 3 p.m. on Saturday when a fire broke out in a building on rue Commandant Charcot, located near the Pontchaillou station stop, in Rennes. According to the Ille-et-Vilaine firefighters, the fire started in an apartment located on the third floor, releasing significant smoke, particularly on the fourth floor.

Quickly on the scene, firefighters had to evacuate fifteen people who were trapped in the flames and thick black smoke. Several children were present.

Firefighters had to deploy the large ladder to take care of several victims trapped on the fourth floor. Others were able to be extracted by the stairs. Thanks to the intervention of the firefighters, no one was injured. Nine people were kept under observation but no one was taken to hospital. Two families will be rehoused by the town hall.
