Fibes consolidated its position on the circuit of major cultural shows in 2019, a year in which it earned three million euros from activities in this line of business. The pandemic forcedly reduced the calendar, which, again, begins to resume this year with a musical, a type of show in which the congress center has also begun to specialize in recent years.
Specifically, next weekend the musical is scheduled Ghost, which arrives in Seville after two successful seasons on Madrid’s Gran Vía and from the production company LetsGo. Since February 2020, just two years ago, there hasn’t been such a show on Fibes. On that occasion it was The bodyguard and, since 2016, works such as Dirty Dancingon two occasions, the doctor, Priscilla, queen of the desert, Beauty and the Beast, Smiles and tears, mamma mia O Sister act.
From 2017 and until the start of the pandemic, the average number of scheduled cultural activities was more than 40 per year. For 2022 until the month of November there are already nine events closed, in addition to the aforementioned musical, mostly concerts, including one by Pablo Alborán and another by Raphael.
In the pandemic, Fibes has tried to adapt its offer to new needs. Thus, in the summer of 2020, in full de-escalation, it hosted the open-air festival Kultura&Co, with an unprecedented program. And after this fall the conference center accelerated its recovery with a calendar of international events, it is now that it also resumes cultural activity.
The weekend show (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) is recommended for all audiences and lasts two hours. Ghost is a musical version of the Oscar-winning 1990s film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldber. On this occasion, the show has among its cast David Bustamante and Ricky Merino, who will alternate in the role of Sam, and Cristina Llorente, as Molly. An unbeatable love story that was a worldwide success.
Others that have hosted musicals and great cultural shows have also joined the great Fibes stage in recent years. This is the case of Cartuja Center CITE, which last fall scheduled another great production, the musical the doctor. This confirms the good position that Seville has achieved in this market, where it is climbing steps, and which it hopes to relaunch now after the pandemic.
