The FIA will after the horrific crash of Romain Grosjean to launch a full investigation that thoroughly scrutinizes both the car and the safety of the track, race leader Michael Masi said last weekend. The results of this study are expected within six to eight weeks.
The FIA has now released details of the investigation that started right after the race in Bahrain and explains exactly how this process works. The investigation will examine all aspects of the crash, from the driver’s helmet and clothing, to the survival cell, the headrest and the halo. The chassis and crash barrier will also be thoroughly studied.

“As with all serious accidents, we will analyze every aspect of the crash and work with all parties involved,” FIA CEO Adam Baker told Formula1.com. “With the vast amount of data available in Formula 1, we can accurately identify every element of what exactly happened and this process has already begun.”
“We take this investigation very seriously and will follow a rigorous process to find out exactly what happened before proposing potential improvements,” said Baker.
