The FGR had studied requesting arrest warrants against three of those involved. The hearing for the fourth, David, had been scheduled for this Tuesday, April 12.
The withdrawal has to do with a reconsideration that the FGR will carry out so that accusations are presented against the lawyers, according to Animal Politico.
Collado and the case
Until before his arrest in July 2019, in a luxury restaurant in Lomas de Chapultepec, in Mexico City, Juan Collado was a famous lawyer for having personalities and politicians such as Raúl Salinas de Gortari, brother of the former president, among his clients. Carlos Salinas de Gortari, former oil leader Carlos Romero Deschamps and was in charge of finalizing the divorce between former President Enrique Peña Nieto and actress Angélica Rivera.
However, the Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation folder against him for crimes of organized crime and operations with resources of illicit origin.
In September 2020, Collado Mocelo was linked to a process for tax fraud, for 36 million pesos, and embezzlement, for 13.7 million to the detriment of the government of Chihuahua. Since then he has been held in preventive detention in the North Reclusorio, while his legal situation is defined for other crimes.
