Born in 1945 in Bône, the juvenile backpacker that he was at the time made a stopover in this county of Nice that he cherished so much and that he will never leave again. We can speak of love at first sight.
Witness to the great hours of the Gym
Very early on in the aisles of the Stade du Ray, Alain became one of the most fervent supporters that OGC Nice has known.
He liked to tell the youngest about the great hours of the Gym, in particular the last coronation of the Aiglons in 1959 and especially this famous cup match of the champions clubs won 3-2 by the Gym against the great Real Madrid.
“It was madness, the whole stadium was in turmoil, a pressure cooker. I will remember all my life the photographers on the pitch who put pressure on the referee to get a penalty. The city was one man. This moment got the better of me.“
His words were often accompanied by other equally crisp anecdotes about the history of the Gym. Over time, over 60 years. The continuation is a flawless presence at the fire stadium of the Ray then at the Allianz Riviera until this terrible August 11, 2021 at 8:05 am when the eternal supporter Alain Yona will have joined the paradise of the Aiglons. After the Shepherd, it is another great figure of the Gym who leaves us orphans.
Such a “caring daddy”
Moved, his daughters Florie and Julie nevertheless found the strength to publicly pay tribute to “our caring daddy, a flawless father and grandfather, always listening, a faithful person who loved his neighbor. He will leave a great void.”
