Ferrari will unveil its long-awaited “thoroughbred” in September

“We are confident that Purosangue will exceed all expectations,” said its new CEO, Benedetto Vigna, during the presentation of the new 2022-2026 strategic plan at the group’s historic headquarters in Maranello (north).

The “Purosangue” will be equipped with a V12 engine, faithful to the tradition of the legendary brand, and will be a sports car, he explained, without however providing other technical details.

“We will maintain the highest level of exclusivity,” promised Mr. Vigna, specifying that the share of Purosangue in deliveries will remain on average below 20% of the total.

“It will be a 100% Ferrari car, equipped with an iconic engine,” assured commercial director Enrico Galliera.

The manufacturer has also committed to launching fifteen new models over the period 2023-2026.

“We have achieved all the objectives set” in the previous strategic plan presented in 2018, which also provided for the launch of fifteen models, said Mr. Vigna.

This microchip expert took control of the group last September, succeeding John Elkann who had taken over after the resignation of Louis Camilleri in December 2020.

The launch of the first SUV, an extremely buoyant niche in which Ferrari is one of the last manufacturers to position itself, was long awaited.

Production of another model, the limited-edition Icona Daytona SP3, is also expected to begin later this year for deliveries “starting in 2023”.
