A 37-year-old was riding his e-bike on Saturday at 8:50 p.m. on the bike path from Randersacker towards Würzburg. According to the police report, during an overtaking maneuver, the man drove across a meadow with the bicycle light switched off and fell into a 2.5 meter deep moat in front of him.
In order to be able to rescue the seriously injured driver from the ditch, the Randersacker volunteer fire department and the Würzburg professional fire department were on duty.
As a result of the fall, the e-bike rider, who according to the police was traveling without a bicycle helmet, suffered several broken bones and a wound in the head and was therefore taken to hospital for treatment. Damage to the e-bike amounted to 1,500 euros.
