“I don’t care if I return in 2022 or 2023, 40 or 41 years old. The question I ask myself is whether I will be able to torture myself every day for my return. Today my heart tells me yes. Although I know that the end is near, I would like to try to play a couple more important games again ”, he commented about his future on the circuit.

In that sense, he clings to the hope that he can fight for important things. “Nobody knows, not even the doctors themselves. I still hope. My world won’t collapse if that doesn’t happen again, but my dream now is to be able to return. I believe in these kinds of miracles because I have already seen them. I would like to see again what I can achieve as a professional tennis player ”, he highlighted.

The former world number one puts all his strength in recovery to be able to fulfill his dream of saying goodbye on a tennis court and not retiring without being able to step on one again. “I have a hard time making the decision.
