Swiss tennis player Roger Federer has not lost any of his popularity with fans, even though he has played only six matches this season. In the traditional ATP poll for the most popular player, he extended his record series by the 18th title in a row. His Spanish rival and 13-time Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal won the Stefan Edberg Award for sporting behavior, which is decided by the tennis players themselves, for the third time in a row. The award holders were announced today by ATP.

Novak Djokovic will take over the trophy for the player who finished the season at the place of the world number one. The Serbian tennis player, who won four titles this year, including a record eighth triumph at the Australian Open, made it for the sixth time, equaling Pete Sampras’ record. The list of deblists was dominated by the champions of the US Open Mate Pavič and Bruno Soares.
