February holidays have started in zone A

Next will be zone C on February 13, then zone B on February 20. The date of the school holidays depends on the area in which the establishment is located. As for school holidays, France is divided into three zones: zones A, B and C. In details :

• Zone A, to which fall the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers
• Zone B, which includes the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg
• Zone C, to which fall the academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles.

The February holidays for the school year that began in September 2020 start on different dates depending on the academic zones. For zone A (Bordeaux, Lyon, Grenoble …) they started on February 6 and classes will resume on Monday February 22. In zone C (Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles) they will start on February 13 and stop on March 1. Finally, zone B (Aix-Marseille, Nantes, Orléans-Tours, Strasbourg …) will go on vacation on February 20, and will resume classes on Monday March 8.

Also note that the Ascension Bridge, which is a public holiday, will take place from Wednesday 12 to Monday 17 May 2021 regardless of the zone concerned.

Unlike the Christmas holidays, which are identical for everyone regardless of the zone concerned (zone A, zone B or zone C) and whatever the establishment concerned (school, college or high school), the winter holidays 2020, also called February holidays, depend on the area to which the academy belongs. February holidays begin on Saturday February 6, 2021 in the first zone to be on vacation and end with the resumption on Monday March 8, 2021 in the last zone to leave. For the 2020-2021 school year, the first zone to leave for the February holidays is zone A when it was the last zone for the 2019-2021 school year.
