FDA Advisors to Discuss the Future of COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters – NBC New York (47)

Advisors from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will meet on Wednesday to discuss what the future of COVID-19 vaccine boosters will look like in the United States.

It’s an important question: Just a week ago, the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approved a second booster dose for people age 50 and older, four months after his first reinforcement.

But fewer than half of eligible adults have received their first booster shot, and some experts question whether getting extra doses every few months to protect against minor illness is a practical public health strategy.
