Taremi is part of Iran’s squad for the Asian Cup, which will take place from January 12th to February 10th, in Qatar. The FC Porto striker naturally integrates the Iranian delegation, as he is one of the “pillars” of the team.
Thus, Taremi, who is at the end of his contract with the Dragons, will miss at least five FC Porto matches, including the home game against Sp. Braga, for the League, on January 14th. Participation in the derby in Bessa is not yet certain – four days later Iran will face Indonesia in a friendly match – nor in the Cup game with Estoril. This way, at most, the number 9 can miss seven of the Porto players’ games.
If he reaches the final of the competition, Taremi will return to Sérgio Conceição’s options in time for the reception to Arsenal, on February 21st.
The 31-year-old striker has six goals and four assists in 24 games for the blue and whites this season.
