FC Blau-Weiß Linz Hosts Altach in Historic Bundesliga Double Game

After two away games and the international break, it’s finally that time again, FC Blau-Weiß Linz is playing at home and twice. Both the men and women will play their Bundesliga match against Altach in the Hofmann Personal Stadium.

Our men’s team will face Cashpoint SCR Altach in the seventh round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga at 5 p.m. After the first Bundesliga win in history against WSG Tirol, FC Blau-Weiß Linz is looking forward to the next home game with full confidence. The team was able to win 2-0 against SV Ried during the international break and then take a breather for four days. The Blue-Whites started training again this week with new freshness. In terms of personnel, head coach Gerald Scheiblehner can also rely on all players apart from Lukas Tursch, Erwin Softic and Mehmet Ibrahimi. The next points should now follow against Cashpoint SCR Altach. But coach Gerald Scheiblehner is warned.

“We face a strong opponent. I think Altach started the season very, very well, probably the surprise team in the league. They challenged Sturm Graz enormously in the last 90 minutes. We go into the game as outsiders, but we are well prepared and will try to deliver the next surprise,” said Gerald Scheiblehner.

Altach with a good start to the season

After finishing tenth in the table last season, the Altach team are currently in seventh place with seven points from six games. In the last round they were almost able to take home a point from Graz. It wasn’t until injury time that Graz scored the winning goal to make it 2-1.

First Bundesliga double game

For the first time, a Bundesliga double game for men and women will take place on Saturday. Following the men’s team, our women will meet SPG Altach/Vorderland. The Vorarlberg women finished last season in third place in the table and have already won their two games this season.

“The anticipation is huge. We have never been able to experience a setting like this before. It is a very special experience for us. Altach is the not-so-secret favorite to win the championship this year. From this it is clear who is the favorite in this game. But we still want to act as underdogs and cause a surprise,” said Katharina Meßthaler, captain of FC Blau-Weiß Linz/Union Kleinmünchen.

“The fact that we are holding this double event is a clear commitment to Austrian women’s football. We also want to offer the opportunity for even more people to become aware of women’s football and to become even more enthusiastic about women’s football. As far as I know, it is also the first time there has been a double event in a fixture where both teams from the first division play against the same opponent. “So it’s also something historic and we’re pleased that we can offer this platform,” says Managing Director Christoph Peschek.

Ticketinfo

There are currently still a few remaining tickets. Today and tomorrow there will be a stationary sale at the stadium ticket office at the main entrance from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. If there are still tickets available on the day of the match, the box office will be open 120 minutes before the start of the game. All season tickets and day tickets are valid for both games on Saturday. Due to the women’s game, the stadium will open 90 minutes before the start of the game on Saturday. After the women’s game, the stadium closes at 10 p.m. at the latest.

We are looking forward to a great evening of football in front of a full house!
