FC Barcelona Veteran Sergio Busquets to Leave Club After 18 Seasons

MADRID, 10th May, 2020 (WAM) — FC Barcelona officially announced today that its veteran player, Sergio Busquets, will leave the team at the end of the current season, after 18 seasons with the club.
Barcelona indicated on its website that midfielder Busquets, one of the best players to have represented the team, will leave the club at the end of this season.
The club indicated that the player revealed his decision through a video clip, which was characterized by the emotional side, on social media, in which he indicated that the decision was not easy, thanking all those who accompanied him on the journey to play with the team.
The club stated that Busquets moved to Barcelona in 2005 and then moved to the second team in the team led by coach Josep Guardiola, after two seasons in the ranks of the youth team (under 19 years), and helped the club’s second team to rise to the second division, before starting his career with the first team in 2008 from During his match against Racing Santander in the Spanish League.
