The Spanish football club FC Barcelona will leave its Camp Nou stand for a year in the summer of 2022. The reason is the reconstruction work, which will increase the capacity of the stadium from 99,000 to 110,000. These should last a total of three to four years.
Club President Joan Laporta said on Friday that the transitional home could be the John Cruyff Stadium in Barcelona. The stand, where a predominantly women’s section plays, currently has a capacity of only 6,000 spectators, but could temporarily increase to 50,000. The second alternative is the Olympic Stadium in Montjuica. The report was brought by the AP agency.
