Community Shares Their Concerns

A neighbor, who prefers to remain anonymous, revealed that waking up to a crime scene is not an unfamiliar sight in their neighborhood. Despite this, they have expressed that they do not consider their neighborhood to be inherently dangerous. However, they have decided that it is best for their family to find a safer place to live, due to previous instances of violence in the area.

According to the anonymous neighbor, incidents such as the recent shooting had become more common in their area. They stressed the importance of community engagement and increased police presence to curb the incidents of violence.

“I don’t think this is a ghetto. I’m from L.A. I know what a ghetto looks like. I just think there’s a lot of people in this area, and the police presence has completely gone down. I don’t have anything bad against police. I just think this area’s inundated with people that the population has probably quadrupled in the 10 years we’ve been here.”
