Dreieich – Sad news at the weekend from the Rhine-Main area: on Sunday morning (July 2nd) there was a tragic traffic accident with a fatal outcome on the B486 in Dreieich-Offenthal (Offenbach district).
What happened? Around 11:30 a.m., a 67-year-old motorcyclist from Kelsterbach and his 67-year-old passenger got into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons, according to the police in Southeast Hesse, and collided with a vehicle belonging to a 20-year-old woman from Rödermark.

Any help from the rescue workers came too late for the driver of the Suzuki: the 67-year-old succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. His wife was taken to a hospital in Frankfurt with serious injuries. The young driver of the Fiat involved in the accident suffered a shock, but apparently remained physically unharmed.

The resulting property damage amounts to around 20,000 euros. The B486 route between Langen and Urberach had to be closed for about four hours to accommodate the accident. An expert was called in to determine the exact cause of the accident.
