On Sunday afternoon, a motorist with his BMW 530 e, an electric vehicle, left Bernsdorfer Strasse for an unknown cause.
The BMW crashed into the wall of a supermarket with full force. The house wall collapsed partially.
The driver (23) was caught in the car wreck and had to be released by the fire department.
But all help came too late for him – he died at the scene of the accident.
The BMW was completely destroyed by the crash. Information on property damage is not yet available.
Bernsdorfer Strasse was temporarily closed. There were disabilities around local traffic.

Update, 2.30 p.m .: According to the police, the driver was a 23-year-old. Apparently he had hit the wall on purpose, the police said. “A 37-year-old woman who worked in the market also had injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment,” said a police spokesman.
Bernsdorfer Strasse was closed until 1 p.m.
Update, 3.35 p.m .: According to the fire brigade, the electric vehicle made increased security measures necessary. The BMW was secured in a special container.
The fire brigade was on site with 50 emergency services and 13 vehicles. The professional fire brigade was supported by the volunteer fire brigades from Adelsberg and Kleinolbersdorf.
