Susanna Avesani Pinto, 66 and known in the world of high fashion in Milan and around the world, died yesterday afternoon at the Maggiore hospital in Parma. President of ‘Avesani Srl’, the woman last August 27 was stung by a bee while she was in a house in Castell’Arquato, in the hills in the province of Piacenza. She was rushed by ambulance to the intensive care units in Parma but never recovered. In the past few hours the doctors have had to ascertain the death. She leaves her husband Silvio Pinto with whom, in 1979, she had founded the company, a point of reference for many of the most successful companies in the fashion business. Over the years he has worked with ‘Club 21’, ‘BlueGem’, ‘Taubman Company’, ‘Henry Bendel’ and ‘Harrod’s’, as well as with major brands that bear the name of the Piacenza Giorgio Armani.
