Farmers stop ice factory blockade MP De Jong

Earlier, the demonstrators said they would not leave until they spoke to De Jong. The MP said he always wanted to start a conversation, but ‘not in this way’. The activists said they certainly want to stay until Sunday evening, De Jong’s father and director of the Eeuwe de Jong ice cream factory said today.

No ice transported

Romke de Jong owns the ice cream company, father De Jong has been running it since his son has been in the House of Representatives. No ice could be transported due to the blockade.

The police did not intervene all day and had the tractors blockade the factory. According to the police, it was up to the mayor to make a decision about this and the municipality had not yet done so.
