“My voice has just changed a lot over the years and you heard that every time,” says Famke. Her older songs do not fit on the album. “It just doesn’t make sense. I am now working musically in a completely different way. Many people would not have sought this after me. It is not only surprising but also innovative.”

“I am proud to show myself from a completely different side. It is quite a big switch”, Famke continues. The singer also wanted to take a step. “My fans are also getting older. They are also growing. I also want to give them something new and not that they think: ‘Well, that Famke Louise has stuck in time’.”

Not only musically Famke made steps but also behind the scenes. Broken working relationships, boyfriends that come and go: it all contributed to the album NEXT. “I made all the choices myself and that is why I am where I am now,” says Famke. She has grown, she adds. “I feel that I am in the right place in my life. I have had quite a dark time. I was confused with myself but it seems as if the light is showing again.”

As a perfectionist, Famke focuses on the positive and leaves all the negativity that is circulating about her behind. “This album feels like a new start to me. I now want to show things of myself more often or even just every other month. I’m in control now.”
