Fall at the wrong time

Lombok, CNN Indonesia

Repsol Honda team racer, Mark Marquezfelt not as good as before after having an accident during the last seconds of free practice (free practice 2/FP2) MotoGP MandalikaWest Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday (18/3).

Intending to pursue the best record time, Marquez actually fell before FP2 ended and had to be willing to be in the top 20 in the second session of the first day of the Mandalika MotoGP.

“I feel like I was better before the fall. Yes, I fell at the wrong time. When you try to catch up with time at the end of time something happens,” said the 29-year-old man.

“Overall I’m happy today. But without an accident I would be even more happy because it’s outside the top 10 and that’s not our target. Now is the time to pray for tomorrow to recover in FP3 and try to get into the top 10,” explained Marquez who came to the session press conference by car.

Marquez was ranked 22nd in FP2, much worse than FP1 when he was able to occupy the third position.

The man from Spain is also still learning how the motor used for this season works. Marquez feels that he has gradually begun to understand how to drive the RC213V.

Marquez’s confidence also grew because there were motorcycle settings that were adapted to his racing style.

The issue of tire selection was also discussed by Marquez in order to penetrate the top 10 on the second day of the Mandalika MotoGP.

Marquez failed to finish on the podium at the Qatar MotoGP two weeks ago. After starting from third position, Marquez ended the race in fifth place. However, Marquez is still one of the racers who are championed to become world champions this year.

The Mandalika 2022 MotoGP race series takes place March 18-20. Live streaming of MotoGP Mandalika 2022 can be watched via CNNIndonesia.com, while the live broadcast of the race can be watched on Trans7.
