Facebook wants to cancel the pages of SPD, Tomia Okamura and Radim Fiala. They are said to be in violation of community policies Home

Prague Facebook has threatened to dismantle the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) website as well as its chairman Tomio Okamura and vice-chairman Radim Fiala. The movement announced it in a press release on Tuesday, according to them, the social network points to an alleged violation of the rules of use. SPD officials reject this, and if their site is canceled, they want to defend themselves in court.

The “Purple and SPD” Web site, without further details, has been warned “Your site is at risk of being unpublished due to continued violations of community policy.” SPD spokeswoman Barbora Zeťová provided a screenshot with a warning on Fiala’s page.

According to the SPD spokesman, Okamura had a link to several posts which, according to Facebook, he had violated the principles, but the chairman of the movement refused. According to him, the contributions he shared did not violate the rules of the social network.

“We consider this to be an attack on our constitution and the charter of civil liberties and a violation of equal, free and free competition of political parties,” Okamura said. According to the SPD, the abolition of Facebook pages would mean a violation of the parties’ competition, because profiles on the social network are a means of communication with voters.

If Facebook cancels the profiles of the movement and its two leading figures, they intend to defend themselves in court. Okamura emphasized that social network rules cannot take precedence over laws and constitutional rights.
