Facebook should train an AI to look at things as a human being

Facebook has now started telling about its new AI project Ego4D which is about teaching computers to see things in the same way as humans, reports Engadget.

The company says that they trained Ego4D by hiring 13 different universities in nine countries that collected a total of 2200 hours with video material from 700 participants.

All video material must be taken from the first person and depict serious situations such as social interaction, handling of physical objects and predictions about what will happen.

According to Facebook’s chief researcher, Kristen Grauman, the project has the largest data collection of its kind created for a similar focus. The data collection will also be made available in November to researchers who sign Ego4D’s user agreement.
