Facebook has removed a video of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for spreading false information about the coronavirus, the company confirms to the BBC. The video was removed because the footage could result in physical damage, which violates Facebook’s policy.
In the video, Bolsonaro, who dismisses the corona pandemic as “the flu,” said that the drug hydroxychloroquine “works in all cases” against COVID-19, while none yet definitive remedy for the disease exists.
Twitter also has two videos of Bolsonaro about the coronavirus deleted. The images showed how the Brazilian President downplays the corona crisis and argues that man could have no influence on it. “People are dying, but that’s up to God,” he said.
