Fabrizio Romano has stated on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur have approached Ernesto Valverde to become their new manager.
The well-known and respected journalist has added that nothing is ahead between Tottenham and Valverde.
Romano has also suggested that Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag are still on the list of possible candidates for the Spurs.

Who is Ernesto Valverde?
Valverde is a very good and experienced coach.
The 57-year-old has been in the management business since 2002 and has headed clubs like Athletic de Bilbao, Espanyol and Villarreal.
The Spaniard was most recently Barcelona’s coach.
Valverde was appointed to the position in Barcelona in the summer of 2017 and was fired in January 2020.

The Spaniard won the league title twice and the Copa del Rey once with Barcelona.
Valverde was a great success during his time as a coach in Greece.
The former Athletic Bilbao striker won the Greek Super League with Olympicos in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and the Greek Cup in 2009 and 2012.
Valverde has won a total of 10 trophies in his career as a coach.
The Spaniard has also won 392 of the 734 games he has led so far in his career.
