Fabio Di Giannantonio’s Victory at Qatar MotoGP and Future Plans in MotoGP Class

Jakarta

Standing on the first podium in the Qatar MotoGP opens up the opportunity for Fabio Di Giannantonio to remain in premier class motorbike racing next season.

Gresini Racing rider, Fabio Di Giannantonino recently appeared impressive in the MotoGP class. The climax was at the Qatar MotoGP, for the first time Fabio Diggia won his first victory and stood on the main podium. This first victory was clearly an asset for Diggia to get a seat to race in the MotoGP class next season.

As we all know, Diggia will no longer defend Gresini Racing starting next season. His position will be occupied by Marc Marquez who decided to leave Repsol Honda after 11 years together. On the other hand, Repsol Honda, which has one empty place, has not yet announced the name of its rider for next season. However, it is believed that this victory will raise Diggia’s name and become a consideration for the team to propose to him.

“Fabio is the fastest compared to anyone and he doesn’t know yet whether he will race in MotoGP next season which I think is unacceptable because he has shown that he is one of the best racers at the moment,” said Ducati Sports Director Paoli Ciabatti as reported by the MotoGP page.

Ciabatti said that currently Diggia’s biggest opportunity is to join the VR46 Racing Team if Luca Marini replaces Marc Marquez. That’s even if the VR46 Racing Team doesn’t recruit other riders.

“But the decision is not in our hands. As you know VR46 and Gresini choose their own riders. I think his performance is worthy of winning and he can be a good rider for every team. Otherwise we would have offered him something, despite the number of wild cars next year very limited in relation to the new regulations,” explained Ciabatti.

On the other hand, Diggia’s manager, Diego Tavano, said he had made contact with Valentino Rossi’s racing team. Unfortunately, no decision has been made until now.

“I finally see the light after difficult times. I think we will move, and we have spoken with VR46, I am optimistic,” said Diego in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
