F1 driver Lewis Hamilton participates in takeover bid for Manchester United[F1-Gate.com]

Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton will participate in a bid to buy Manchester United from the Premier League (England), reports The Mirror.

Manchester United is arguably the biggest club in England. However, the club has failed to live up to its high expectations over the years, with supporters blaming the current owners, the Glazer family.

The Glazer family are reportedly considering selling Manchester United and are currently searching for a candidate. Several parties have already submitted bids, including Jim Ratcliffe, who is also the CEO of global chemical company INEOS.

Lewis Hamilton is aligned with Jim Ratcliffe, whom he considers a friend and business partner. With billions of dollars expected to be on the table to buy Manchester United, he will be able to take full advantage of his driver’s help. It will also be important for Hamilton to embark on a path into the business world to set new goals after retiring from F1.

The two had previously attempted to jointly buy Chelsea, but in the end a consortium formed by American Todd Boley won the bid.
