Another great day of sailing today at Leucate, several titles of champion of France have been awarded. Among the Kitefoils, Maxime Nocher, Lauriane Nolot and Jean-Romain Morel leave with gold.
They made the show in Kite Freestyle on the beach of Coussoules with between 20 and 25 knots of wind and gusts. The sand flew today but not only! The “Freestylers” gave us great tricks on the water. A superb show to impress the public present by the sea.
Another beautiful windy day today, on the beach at Leucate and in Les Coussoules, eight French championship titles were awarded today in freestyle kite and senior kitefoil.
At the end of three races in the day in Kitefoil, Maxime Nochet leaves no chance to his opponent Benoît Gomez and becomes the new champion of France. Tiger Tyson takes third place in the general classification but as he is not French, it is Thomas Lombardo who climbs on the third step of the podium. In women, Loriane Nolot also flew over the championship with 7 races won. Anaïs Mai Desjardins arrives in front of Alexia Fancelli at 1 point to complete the podium.
Among the over 35s, Jean-Romain Morel won the title ahead of Billy Guy Maupas after two victories in today’s races. Pierre Reguigne completes the podium.
Hopes continued to run today. No big change in ranking, the debates are largely dominated by Heloïse Pegourie for girls and Ulysse Dereeper for boys.
Windfoil side, three races for the U17s, four for the U21s and four for the girls were run today in a strong wind causing many crashes. At this time, the complaints are still pending.
In Kite Freestyle, the judges had to worry about scoring because the level was tight but still present. The tricks are rated with regard to various criteria such as technique, power, height, risk factor, fluidity, and of course style. At the end of this beautiful day on the famous sport of Coussoules, 5 crowns of Champion of France were awarded.
