New details have appeared for the hellish catastrophe with three dead, which happened near Evksinograd. It has now become clear that the District Prosecutor’s Office – Varna is conducting pre-trial proceedings under Art. 343, para. 4 in connection with para. 3, letter “B” of the Penal Code in connection with causing the death of more than one person while driving a motor vehicle after using drugs.
A 46-year-old man driving one of the cars involved in the severe accident has been detained. An analysis of the evidence for his involvement as a defendant and his detention under the Criminal Procedure Code is pending.
The incident occurred on the evening of September 3, 2021, shortly after 22:00, on the road from the resort. Golden Sands for Varna, in the region of Evksinograd. Two cars collided.
As a result of the severe accident, three people traveling in one of them died.
The work on clarifying the causes and circumstances of the accident continues under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office – Varna.
We remind you that the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria has taken numerous initiatives to amend the Criminal Code for transport crimes – increasing sanctions, confiscation of vehicles related to transport crimes after alcohol and drug use.
