Two months before the end of the year, a man with 80 banned New Year’s crackers was caught under the front seats of his car in the Upper Palatinate. The 45-year-old traveled from the Czech Republic to Bavaria, police said Wednesday. During a check on the occasion of the feast of All Saints in Furth im Wald (Cham district), border police officers discovered the illegal fireworks. Upper Bavaria is now under investigation for violating the explosives law. He admitted he bought the firecrackers in the Czech Republic.
