Experts have named the best smartphone for photos

MOSCOW, April 11 – RIA News. DxOMark Laboratory Experts called the new “king” in the world of mobile photography. They became the flagship smartphone Huawei P40 Pro, the official sale of which in Russia began today. RIA Novosti understood how Huawei was able to achieve shooting quality unattainable for competitors.–

Golden mean

After testing the new smartphone Huawei P40 Pro, the DxOMark laboratory experts gave him 140 points for the quality of the photo, 105 points for the video, and the total score was 128 points. This is much more than the nearest competitors – Xiaomi Mi10 Pro and Oppo Find X2 Pro, which received 124 points.

DxOMark said that usually new products get one extra point against previous leaders, suggesting minor changes. But this time, everything is different: Huawei P40 Pro set a new bar for quality, for which he received an advantage of four points at once.

Huawei succeeded in achieving this result thanks to an advanced four-module photosystem developed jointly with Leica. It boasts not only a 10x hybrid and 50x digital zoom, but also a pixel size enlarged to 2.44 microns. This makes it possible to get rid of noise in the final picture, even with a significant increase in the image, but also to catch light even at dusk.

To understand how this works in the end, just look at one of these photos.

But even with such a camera, it will not be possible to achieve impressive results if it does not work together with advanced artificial intelligence, for which the latest Kirin 990 5G processor is responsible for the P40 Pro. With its help, the camera does not just take what its sensors pick up, but recognizes the shooting plot (be it the sky, moon, building, cat or flower), automatically adjusting all the necessary parameters for it.

Moreover, artificial intelligence offers a wide range of capabilities for post-processing photos. For example, the P40 Pro implements the Gold Snap function. In a nutshell, with its help, the camera understands that there is a moving object in front of it, and takes several frames at once, automatically choosing the best one, discarding, for example, those that turned out to be blurry, or if one of the people in the photo blinked during shooting . At the same time, the user can independently choose any frame he likes.

In addition, another function – AI Remove Passerby – allows you to remove passersby who accidentally fell into the frame with a single click. And AI Remove Reflection mode will automatically remove mirror reflections on the glass that appear, for example, when a user tries to photograph an aquarium with fish or a picture in a museum, which is located behind a glass showcase.

Especially for video lovers

Separately, it is worth emphasizing that the P40 Pro camera will appeal to fans of video shooting: it has a 40 MP wide-angle movie lens, a 12 MP ultra-sensitive telephoto lens for shooting objects at a distance, and a 3D lens for determining the depth of field.

So with the help of such a camera, you can shoot video selfies with blurring the background in real time, a video with a double frame (both a general plan and an approximate fragment) and even an ultra-slow motion video, where you can literally see a soap bubble burst.

There is also a hardware innovation in the camcorder: a specially installed directional microphone allows you to record sound coming from the video object, even if it is at some distance, while muffling background noise.

All this makes the Huawei P40 Pro not just a smartphone with a high-quality camera, but actually equates it with professional cameras and camcorders. At the same time, all its functionality is available to ordinary users who do not seek to learn the intricacies of the filming process, but simply want to get unforgettable frames in one click.

Starting April 10, the Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 smartphones can be purchased in stores throughout Russia. The recommended retail price is 69,999 rubles and 49,999 rubles, respectively.

Two new devices are available in shimmering silver and black. On flagships, the Huawei AppGallery brand store is preinstalled, where there are applications of foreign and Russian developers (in particular, the full Yandex package). Also, new smartphones have a contactless payment service Huawei Pay (with support for Union Pay cards) or Wallet (with support for MasterCard).
