Expert Predicts Major Houseboat Accident in Kerala Leading to Ten or More Deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Murali Tummarukudi, an expert of the United Nations Disaster Management Committee, has accurately predicted 35 days in advance that there will be a major boat accident in Kerala. More than 10 people will soon die in a houseboat accident in Kerala. Tummarukudi wrote in his Facebook post on April 1 that there will be a big houseboat accident in Kerala soon in which more than ten people will die.

Is there going to be a big houseboat accident in Kerala? Whether it is flood or drowning, my method is to predict in advance. Then a prediction can be made. More than 10 people will soon die in a houseboat accident in Kerala. Why make such a prediction?

When I predict something, it is not an astrological prediction or guess. Reviews the risk of accidents in the field, takes precautions and observes the trend of minor accidents. It doesn’t take astrology to predict that a guy who regularly rides a drunk bike will meet with a road accident. Let’s give an example.

In Kerala, five health workers are victims of violence by patients or their relatives every month. Fortunately, there has been no such death so far.

That’s just luck. There will be a death like that, sure.

Now, those who say, “Some doctors are asking for money” will completely change the field that day. There will be great opposition in society, the media will discuss, ministers will make statements, the courts will intervene, and there will be new laws. At least for a while, violence against health workers will decrease. Only that one’s life will be gone by then. Today we will talk about an accident that is going to cost more than one person’s life. It is about our houseboat tourism.

Houseboat is now the most popular tourism product in Kerala. There are now houseboats on the rivers and backwaters from Kozhikode to Kollam.

How many houseboats are there in Kerala?

Oh…??

Nobody cares.

In a country where there is Uber and Ola even to call a taxi, why is there no booking system to connect houseboat systems in Kerala?

In olden times, when the train alighted in Madras, the agents of the lodges would be at the platform. Now that mobile apps have come, they are nowhere to be found.

But in Alappuzha there are all such agents on the way to the houseboat jetty.

Why is there not even an application as a student project to provide real time information about the availability, rate and rating of boats? But that is not my point.

Been on the houseboat many times, beautiful.

But even once on the houseboat, there was no safety briefing.

Has anyone given safety training to the drivers of this houseboat? Why don’t we have a houseboat like the safety briefing we get on board a plane or a cruise ship?

Party boats floating with more than 100 people were seen in Alappuzha, how many people will be left in case of an accident? An airline safety video using kathakali motifs in Kerala has been watched.

Shouldn’t such a creative tourism boat safety video be mandatory on all boats?

Its main attraction is the food on the houseboat. The food is cooked in the boat itself.

Houseboats are all combustible materials.

A very small amount of carelessness is enough to cause an accident. Accidents happen. People are dying in tourism boat accidents (house boat, party boat and Shikara all together). Fires occur in houseboats. There is a situation where such boats sink in the middle of the lake. People die for a single shot.

It is by noticing these small accidents and danger situations that we predict something big to come.

There has never been an incident where ten people died. Therefore, none of this is reported, discussed, and the attention of the authorities is not diverted.

But it will. It was found that there were many unlicensed boats.

It will be reported that there were untrained drivers and it will be found that there was not enough personal safety equipment like on the Titanic.

“The driver was drunk” will appear in the media.

A large contingent of houseboat safety experts will ply the channels.

There will be accusations that “the capital disaster did not say anything” about boat safety.

The collector or the minister will immediately “ban” the houseboats.

For some time, locals and foreigners will not be able to board such boats. Given the opportunity, Sri Lanka or Ivory Coast will gain the upper hand in houseboat tourism.

Do you want that? Now, if the tourism boat owners and the government system work together, is it not possible to bring more professionalism in this field?

(While the article written the other day accusing the media got over two lakh reach, the post about water safety did not reach twenty thousand. If there had been an accident, the post would have taken off. Similarly, I don’t know if this post will get any reach, but what needs to be said may be said when it needs to be said. As usual, don’t call for a TV discussion after an accident, please…)
