Experience the Vibrant Charm of Chengdu at the FISU World Universiade 2023

[신화망 청두 8월9일] The FISU World Universiade is heating up in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. In the summer of 2023, here are some ways to enjoy Chengdu City in a colorful way.

◇ The sun creed that shines with ‘golden light’

The sun creed is a gold ornament excavated from the Jinsha ruins in Chengdu. It weighs only 20 g and is only 0.02 cm thick, but the gold purity reaches 94.2%.

The sun creed, a symbol of the ancient Shu civilization, is a major component of the pluralistic integration of Chinese civilization. As a result, the gold ornament of the creed of the sun was selected as China’s representative cultural heritage mark.

The solar creed is made of stained glass on the roof of the main stadium of Donganhu Sports Park, as well as the torch, and can be found throughout the FISU Games.

At the opening ceremony, the head of the Singapore delegation said that traditional Chinese cultural elements such as the sun creed show China’s long history and splendid civilization.

◇ ‘Red Flavor’ hot pot fights fiercely

Hot pot with red soup boiling is a favorite menu among young people around the world after FISU games.

The FISU competition is even more pleasant with the energetic youth in the hot summer, the spicy hot pot of Chengdu, and the enthusiasm of the people of Chengdu who welcome guests.

The stadium reaction is also hot. From applause of encouragement to players who made mistakes to happy birthday songs to players celebrating their birthdays… Chengdu people watching the game responded that the hearts of the people in Chengdu were as warm as hot pot.

◇’Green’ Chengdu’s recording

Chengdu, which was designated as the Park City Demonstration Zone, presented lush greenery to young people from all over the world who visited the city for the FISU Games. It also allowed people to directly experience the achievements of building an ecological civilization in China.

Carbon reduction technology is also notable. Various eco-friendly technologies, from new energy vehicles to signs that generate electricity from cadmium telluride to rainwater recycling systems, permeate every corner of the FISU Games.

In particular, the empty bottle return machine installed to encourage plastic recycling is known to be popular with players as it provides points for recycling and can use the points to purchase souvenirs.

◇’Black and white harmony’ cute Long Bao steals attention

The popularity of Long Bao (蓉寶), the mascot of the FISU Games in harmony with white and black, is skyrocketing.

The players have different skin colors and different languages, but they share the same love for giant pandas.

For this reason, among the 11 tourist routes created by the Urban Business Services Department of the FISU Games Executive Committee, the routes where you can see giant pandas are always full of crowds.
