“Experience Space and More: Celebrating 100 Years of Bordeaux International Fair”

the Bordeaux International Fair, one of the region’s most emblematic events, is a century old! So, for this celebration, its organizers have prepared an exhibition on the scale of the event. An event in partnership with France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

This 100th edition of THE emblematic event of New Aquitaine sets the tone with a program concocted to match the event! From May 13 to 21 at the Parc des Expositions, you will discover, experiment, sing, dance, marvel and get away from it all by having your head in the the stars … In addition to the traditional exhibitions that we know, the new edition also contains several new features.

Among the novelties

Mission Space

This is the most important of the new exhibitions at the Foire de Bordeaux for a timeless space journey signed by the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse. Vou will be invited to explore the confines of space through three stopovers: from the secrets of the moon to the mysteries of comets and the history of space conquest. A discovery of the space enriched with workshops, interactive and playful play areas.

Cars, motorcycles, bicycles, scooters… All means are good for getting around! From May 13 to 15, the various vehicle offers will be presented at the Mobilty Show, including the most recent (thermal, electric, hydrogen hybrid, solar, soft, carbon-free, etc.), and all other means of transport to promote new modes of clean urban transport.

And so that everyone can find their most suitable means of transport, there will even be a test center to test and adopt their favourite.

For the fun part, you can also try out the first indoor crazy cart circuit in Europe or the first European electric scooter simulator. And then, for lovers of old vehicles, there will also be a Mobility Show Retro exhibition.

The Fair had got into the habit of extending the festivities with an evening evening per edition. This year, two major nocturnal evenings are now scheduled, one of which ends in style.

• Wednesday, May 17the banks of the lake will be illuminated at 10:30 p.m. thanks to a pyromusical show “Dreams of Space”. An imaginary journey to be amazed, with your eyes skyward, by the large colorful frescoes that will decorate the Bordeaux sky.
  
• On Saturday May 20, for its last evening, the Bordeaux Fair will plunge visitors into a ambiance 100% Southwest thanks, in particular, to a mini festival of bandas from 8 p.m. A celebration of popular music for fun and dancing as the end clap. Demonstrations of Sevillian dance but also stilt-walking artists will also wander around in music during this second night.

Besides these eveningss, performing arts, concerts, DJ sets and other musical atmospheres will punctuate the daily festivities.

With 800 exhibitors and more than 180,000 expected visitors, the 2023 version of the fair is also of course and always several events not to be missed, such as:

• The Agricultural Show in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine version, which is even positioned second largest fair in France after that of Paris with more than a thousand animals.

• RoboCupJunior : a meeting betweenYoung robotics enthusiasts and research teams providing a continuous vision of the scientific and technical course to follow.
  Lhe final will also take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May on site.
• Bordeaux Geekfest: fans of popculture (video games, comics, high-tech or cosplay) will also be able to find their happiness from May 19 to 21 by attending the ninth edition in the bays of the Fair.
• The habitat, the art of living, the gastronomy from here and elsewhere will still and always be present randomly at the stands to discover, learn, try, taste and be tempted.

You can also attend demonstrations of all kinds such as those of helicopters.

It was the Bordeaux artist Jofo who put his talent to work by signing the visual for this 100th edition. His character Toto, his easily recognizable trademark, has been adapted for more than 35 years, depending on the occasion and the inspiration, in all his creations.

Maybe you could see her giant work of 386 m2 Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux to pay tribute to the nursing staff during the pandemic but also, on the facade of the children’s hospital, the tram works and the latest, the poster for the International Fair to mark its 100th anniversary.

The 2022 edition had seen +10% attendance. This 100th edition, with all its proposals, could well exceed last year’s figures. You will understand, everything will be ready for you to welcome and entertain you. So, are you going?
