From June 1 to 30, in the exhibition hall on the 3rd floor of the shopping and entertainment center “AKROPOLE Alfa”, an exhibition of creative works of children with severe and very severe mental or physical developmental disabilities of the Riga Teikas branch of the State Social Care Center (VSAC) can be viewed. All those interested will have the opportunity to see the works of three young artists, which together form an exhibition of 55 colorful and creative works of different shapes. The exhibition can be viewed free of charge every day from pl. 10.00 to pl. 21.00

In VSAC Rīga Teikas branch, in addition to other ways of cultivating creative skills, children are happily involved in visual art classes. Under the leadership of teacher and artist Ilgvaras Zalānas, several collections of works have been created, which have been exhibited in various exhibitions, international competitions, as well as the luxurious interior of the center. In each of the exhibitions, three students’ works are selected – the carefully detailed works of Krista Močalova, the expressionism of Daniel Miķelsons and the graphic works of Einar Petrakovs can be seen in the exhibition of the “AKROPOLE Alfa” shopping center.

“The main task of the art classes is to provide the children of our center with an additional opportunity to socialize, or in this case to allow them to feel themselves in the role of an artist. Working on their works and knowing that they will be publicly exhibited, the children are happy to participate in the lessons and look forward to the opening of the exhibition. Over time, we see success as children become more open-minded, more involved in everyday events, and develop their artist self-confidence. Art is a way for these children to express themselves, develop and move forward in life, which is an invaluable investment in their future,” says the head of children’s art classes Ilgvars Zalans.

“On the occasion of International Children’s Day, we are pleased to provide a platform for children to whom this exhibition will bring not only joy, but also motivation for further artistic development. We invite everyone to spare a moment in June to visit this exhibition and support young artists with their presence on their difficult but at the same time very important path to their goal,” invites Artūrs Bernhards, manager of the shopping center “AKROPOLE Alfa”..

Visiting the exhibition is free. The exhibition can be viewed every day from pl. 10.00 to pl. 21.00 “AKROPOLE Alfa” on the 3rd floor.

The exhibition of children’s artworks of VSAC Rīga Teikas branch was created with the help of the organization “Children’s Morning” and “Union Aviation” support.
