FunPlus Phoenix presented a South Korean AD-Carry as a new addition on Tuesday. This is Chae-hwan ‘Prince’ Lee.
ADVERTISING:
The 20-year-old will compete with Wei-Xiang ‘Lwx’ Lin for a regular place in the LPL roster next year.
Prince played for Awesome Spear in 2020 in Challengers Korea, the former South Korean league under the LCK. In the spring split he finished second, and in the summer he even won the title. In the 3-0 victory over the Jin Air Green Wings in the final, the South Korean was named the MVP of the series.
In 2019 Prince was under contract with DAMWON Gaming as a substitute player, but only played one game in the LCK during the entire year. In 2018 he was also used in four games by bbq Olivers in the Korean top league.
Second addition to FPX
Prince is the second new signing that FunPlus Phoenix has made in the current off-season. The newly crowned World Champion Ha-gwon ‘Nuguri’ Jang only joined the Chinese organization last Thursday, after Dong-ha ‘Khan’ Kim and Han-saem ‘GimGoon’ Kim had been bid farewell.
Both Nuguri and Prince could be used at the same time for FunPlus Phoenix in the coming LPL year, because Mid-Laner Tae-sang ‘Doinb’ Kim is considered a Chinese player in the sense of the regulations, so he does not use either of the two import slots .
Next Thursday the team will play their next game in the current Demacia Cup 2020. The first quarter-finals will be against the reigning LPL winner Top Esports after FPX had won Group A. Neither Nuguri nor Prince will play, however, because they are not listed in the roster for the tournament.
