With her video clip on Facebook about alleged side effects after a corona vaccination, Daniela Holzinger-Vogtenhuber (33) landed a real hit: The video was shared more than 3500 times in five days, and more than 2000 comments were left on it until yesterday. “That’s really cool,” said the former member of the National Council, happy about the reactions. She feels almost thieving joy because the vaccination advocate is even represented in channels and on platforms of corona deniers.
“The side effects are now public,” says Holzinger-Vogtenhuber at the beginning of the video clip. “And it’s really amazing.” She lists vomiting and abdominal pain, reddened skin, shortness of breath and even life-threatening shock as possible complaints.

What initially appears to be ammunition for vaccine skeptics turns into its opposite towards the end of the clip: the side effects mentioned are the result of the widespread drug aspirin. The video ends with an urgent appeal: “Let’s not act like that, vaccinate gemma together, let’s trust science, let’s trust the doctors and let’s see that we can finally get rid of this stupid virus together.”
“I take aspirin when I have a headache,” says Holzinger-Vogtenhuber in an interview with OÖN. Since vaccine skeptics refer to the corona serum as “the devil’s stuff”, she wanted to show that we take drugs without thinking too much, which have far worse side effects than the corona vaccination.
“Perhaps I was able to help educate people and take a little fear of the corona vaccination,” emphasizes the ex-politician, who is currently on maternity leave. She now runs an agency for political advice with her husband Markus. She ruled out a political comeback in autumn. “I now put all my energy into the family and the company”, emphasizes Daniela Holzinger-Vogtenhuber.
