Evacuation of a migrant camp on the banks of the Ourcq canal in Pantin

The police evacuated a migrant camp located rue Delphine Seyrig in Pantin on the morning of this Friday. This is the third evacuation this month.

A hundred people were evacuated this Friday morning. They had settled under a bridge on the edge of the Ourcq canal, rue Delphine Seyrig in Pantin (Seine-Saint-Denis).

“The police cordoned off the area at 6 a.m. Volunteers were there early and are in the perimeter”explains the association Solidarité migrants Wilson, which adds that it does not know where these people are taken: “Impossible to have a 100% sure confirmation. We do not know where the people will be taken. We are talking about requisitioned places, almost everywhere in Ile-de-France, but also in the provinces. Which are not necessarily permanent. “

For its part, the regional prefecture explains that it took care of 105 people and led them “in accommodation centers in Île-de-France or in the regions. These people will benefit from an assessment of their administrative situation, social, health and administrative support before being redirected to accommodation adapted to their situation, including within the national reception system for asylum seekers.”

On December 10, 237 people, including families with minors who lived under the Sigmund Freud tunnel, located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, were taken care of and evacuated.

According to figures communicated by the regional prefecture, in 2021, “7,302 people were thus sheltered within the framework of 28 operations carried out by the State services” in Ile-de-France.
